크리스마스를 전후로 연말과 연초에 기업의 주가가 오르는 현상을 뜻한다. 매년 특정 시기마다 증시가 강세 또는 약세를 보이는 현상인 캘린더 효과(calendar effect)의 일종이다.

물론 비관론도 적지 않다. 미 연방준비제도(연준ㆍFed)가 기준금리 인상을 지속할 거란 이유에서다. 연준은 인플레이션을 완전히 잡기 전 주가가 오르면 소비자들의 금융자산이 늘어나 소비 여력이 커지면서 긴축 효과를 떨어뜨릴 것으로 보고 있다.
올해 대학수학능력시험을 앞둔 수험생들은 수능이 끝나면 가장 하고 싶은 일로 '아르바이트'를 꼽았다.
11일 알바몬에 따르면 2023학년도 수능을 앞둔 수험생 1201명에게 '수능이 끝나면 가장 하고 싶은 일'에 대해 물은 결과, '아르바이트'라고 답한 수험생이 34.9%로 가장 많았다.
'여행'을 가고 싶다는 수험생은 32.1%로 다음으로 많았고, 이어 ▲운동 등 외모 가꾸기 13.4% ▲운전면허 취득 8.7% 순이었다. 4.8%는 '아무것도 하지 않고 싶다'고 답해, 온전한 휴식을 취하고 싶어하는 수험생도 일부 있는 것으로 나타났다.
아르바이트를 하고 싶은 이유 중에는 '돈을 벌어보기 위해'라고 답한 수험생이 72.6%로 가장 많았으며, 이어 '경험을 쌓기 위해'가 23.9%로 뒤를 이었다.
알바몬에 의하면 매년 11월, 수능 시험을 보는 주 연령대의 이력서가 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 알바몬에 등록된 19~21세의 알바 이력서 수를 분석한 결과, 최근 3년 동안 11월에 등록된 이력서 수는 전월 대비 70.1% 증가한 것으로 집계됐다.
수능을 치렀던 경험이 있는 선배들 중에도 수능이 끝난 후 '아르바이트'나 '여행' 해볼 것을 추천하는 응답자가 많았다. 수능 시험을 치른 경험이 있는 성인남녀 895명에게 '수능 시험이 끝난 후 무엇을 하면 좋을지 한 가지를 추천해달라'고 질문한 결과, '여행'을 추천한 응답자가 39.2%로 가장 많았고 '아르바이트'를 추천한 응답자가 22.3%로 뒤를 이었다.
알바몬 관계자는 "수능 시험 후 아르바이트를 해보려는 수험생들이 많은데, 아르바이트를 시작하기 전 근로계약서 작성법, 주휴수당 계산법 등 알바 상식과 권리 등에 대해 정확히 알고 시작하는 것이 중요하다"고 조언했다.

10월 10일 방송된 KBS JOY ‘무엇이든 물어보살’에서는 50살 고민남 36살 고민녀 부부가 찾아왔다.

고민녀는 대학교 2학년 때 아르바이트하던 술집 사장님으로 14살 잠실노래방알바연상 남편을 만나 먼저 좋아해 결혼했고 36살 젊은 나이에 벌써 결혼 16년차. 이수근은 “그러니까 저 양반의 습성을 아는 거지”라며 고민녀의 마음을 헤아렸고, 서장훈도 “나를 저렇게 꼬셨으니 또 쟤한테 저러는 거 아닌가 그럴 수 있다”고 공감했다.
하지만 고민녀가 말하는 남편과 아르바이트생 사이에 있었던 일들은 크게 문제될 게 없는 수준. 이수근은 “남편이 예전에는 멋있었을 수 있지만 지금 내가 봤을 때는 그냥 좋은 사장님 같다”고 꼬집었고 고민녀는 “그 때는 인기가 많았다. 이수근처럼 말을 재치 있게 잘하고 노래를 잘한다. 노래방에서 반했다. 눈을 마주치면서 노래를 불렀다. 진짜 매력이 있다”고 남편 사랑을 드러냈다.
서장훈도 “지금 알바는 20대 초반이 올 텐데. 걔들에게 그 정도는 아니다”며 “오늘 포인트는 남편이 잘해주고 안 잘해주고 문제가 아니라 자기가 너무 사랑하고 심지어 아직 젊다. 36살이다. 젊어서 질투가 많고. 그게 문제다”고 꼬집었다.
고민녀는 어린 시절 부친의 바람 상처까지 털어놨고, 서장훈은 “내가 너무 사랑해 길에만 내놔도 누가 대시할 것 같냐. 거기서 한 발 더 가면 그 다음부터 치료다”며 “네가 보는 것처럼 그렇게 멋있지 않다”고 일침 했다. 하지만 고민녀는 계속 “신랑이 매력이 있다”며 남편 사랑을 드러냈고 서장훈은 “내 사랑이면 믿는 수밖에 없다”고 조언했다.
MZ세대가 텍스트 소통에 높은 선호를 보이는 반면 10명 중 3명꼴로 전화 공포증, 이른바 콜 포비아를 겪고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

코인노래방에서 아르바이트했다고 밝힌 한 네티즌이 올린 경험담이 충격을 주고 있다.
15일 한 온라인 커뮤니티에는 ‘코인노래방이 10대들의 모텔이다’라는 제목의 글이 올라왔다. 글쓴이는 4~5년 전 일하던 코인노래방에서 10대 학생들이 성관계를 하는 등 탈선 행위가 잦았다고 주장했다.
글쓴이는 당시 코인노래방 문 앞에 ‘CCTV 있습니다. 이상한 짓 하지 마세요’라는 문구가 적혀 있었음에도 학생들이 코인노래방에서 탈선을 이어갔다고 밝혔다.
그는 “어떤 학생은 CCTV 보고 씩 웃고 (성관계했다)”며 “쓰레기통 치우고 (노래방) 안쪽 청소할 때는 콘돔 나왔다. 의자에 이상한 거 묻어 있으면 다 죽여버리고 싶었다”며 분노를 표출했다.
또 “(일한 지) 일주일 만에 노래 부르러 온 것인지, 이상한 짓 하러 온 건지 구별 가능했다”며 “막노동도 버텼는데 거긴 두 달 만에 그만뒀다”고 덧붙였다.
정부가 ‘청소년 고용 금지 업소’에서 PC방을 제외하는 방안을 추진한다. 현행법상 중학교 3학년 생일이 지나는 만 15세부터는 아르바이트를 할 수 있지만, 청소년보호법에 따라 PC방이나 노래방, 유흥주점 등에선 만 19세 미만을 고용할 수 없다. 정부는 이 가운데 PC방에서는 일할 수 있도록 법을 고치겠다는 것이다.
이 내용은 여성가족부가 29일 발표한 ‘제4차 청소년보호 종합대책’에 담겼다. 청소년이 일할 수 있는 안전한 아르바이트 일자리를 늘린다는 취지다.

청소년을 보호해야 하는 만큼, 청소년 아르바이트 기준은 조금 까다로운 편이다. 원칙적으로는 만 15세 이상부터 아르바이트가 가능하며, 만 13세 이상은 지방고용노동청에서 취직인허가증을 받아야 아르바이트를 할 수 있다. 근로시간은 기본적으로 하루 7시간, 1주에 35시간을 넘어서는 안 된다. 유흥주점, 비디오방, 노래방, PC방 등 위험한 일이나 유해업종에서는 일할 수 없다.

서울시가 전국 지자체 최초로 성착취 피해 아동·청소년 지원을 위한 종합대책을 내놨다. 지난 15일 시는 내달 시의회를 거쳐 ‘아동·청소년 성착취 방지 및 피해자 지원 조례’를 제정할 예정이라 밝혔다.
